Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) water
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the olive oil, onion, and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and water to the skillet and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles.

Tips:

  • For a spicier dish, add more cayenne pepper or chili powder.
  • For a milder dish, reduce the amount of chili powder or chili powder.
  • Serve with a side of tortilla chips or bread.
